Therapy for Adults in Lancaster PA
You’re intelligent, independent, and used to pushing through. But the anxiety, confusion, or constant self-doubt is getting harder to ignore. Maybe you’ve been in a toxic relationship. Maybe you’re tired of over-functioning at work and under-supporting yourself. You don’t need to figure it all out alone. Therapy can help you understand what’s going on beneath the surface and start feeling more like yourself again.
ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, and Codependence Therapy
Therapy
Therapy is a space where you don’t have to perform, explain, or pretend. Whether you’re feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in the same relational patterns, our work together will help you build clarity, connection, and confidence.
I specialize in working with adults who appear high-functioning on the outside but are dealing with overwhelm, relationship wounds, or a sense of never being quite “enough.” We’ll work together to unpack what’s keeping you stuck and create tools to help you move forward.
Adult ADHD
ADHD Therapy for Adults
I provide compassionate, personalized therapy for adults with ADHD. Together, we focus on understanding your individual challenges while recognizing and celebrating the strengths that often come with ADHD—like creativity, the ability to live in the moment, and outside-the-box problem-solving. I help reduce the stress caused by executive function deficits and support your emotional well-being.
My approach isn’t about fixing you—it’s about helping you understand your brain so you can work with it, not against it. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, scattered, or exhausted from masking or trying to “just try harder.” Therapy can be a space to unlearn shame, shift self-talk, and build strategies that actually fit your life.
Sessions are shaped by your needs and may include exploring emotional regulation, time management, self-criticism, or simply making sense of your experiences in a world that often doesn’t accommodate neurodivergence.
Autism
Therapy with me is designed for autistic adults to feel understood, supported, and celebrated for who they are. You don’t have to mask here. This is a space where you can show up as your full self—without trying to fit a mold that wasn’t made for you.
We can explore whatever is most pressing for you: sensory overload, burnout, navigating relationships, masking, identity, or workplace challenges. I’ve worked closely with many low-support needs autistic individuals and deeply value the unique strengths, perspectives, and resilience you bring.
So much of therapy (and the world) focuses on “fitting in.” My approach is different. I see you as whole and capable. I center your strengths, validate your experience, and support your goals—whether that means managing stress, improving self-understanding, or processing past hurt.
You’re not too much. You don’t need to be fixed. You deserve therapy that sees and supports all of you.
Anxiety
Anxiety doesn’t always look like panic. It might show up as overthinking, irritability, perfectionism, or physical tension you can’t shake. If you’re constantly managing internal chaos while appearing “fine” to everyone else, therapy gives you space to finally exhale.
We’ll focus on:
-
Quieting mental noise and inner pressure
-
Grounding your body and calming your nervous system
-
Breaking out of worry spirals and over-functioning
-
Replacing self-doubt with self-trust
Codependence & Relationship Recovery
If you’ve spent most of your life putting others first, therapy is where you learn how to come back to yourself. Whether you’re healing from a narcissistic relationship or stuck in cycles of overgiving and resentment, we’ll work on boundaries, emotional safety, and rebuilding your sense of self.
Therapy can help you:
-
Recognize unhealthy relationship patterns
-
Set boundaries without guilt
-
Reconnect with your own needs and values
-
Heal from gaslighting, manipulation, or emotional neglect
Lisa Millhouse, LPC
I help adults untangle emotional confusion and reclaim their voice.
Many of my clients are nurses, physicians, engineers, and professionals who function well in high-pressure environments but struggle quietly with anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and relationship pain. Some are neurodivergent and have never had that affirmed. Others are recovering from codependence or emotionally manipulative relationships that left them feeling unsure of who they are.
I use a warm, client-centered approach. My goal is to help you make real, sustainable change—without judgment or pressure.
